About Me

  Welcome to my blog!

My name is Nicole Hernandez, and I live in the beautiful twin-island country of Trinidad and Tobago, located in the southern Caribbean. I have been a classroom teacher for over thirty years, working with students from First Year to Standard Five, which is equivalent to Kindergarten through Grade 6.

I am married and the proud mother of three children. I hold a Bachelor of Education degree with a major in Language Arts, and in October 2016, I earned a Master of Education in Literacy Instruction from the University of the West Indies. Currently, I teach First Year and continue to find joy and purpose in helping young learners build strong foundations in reading, writing, and social-emotional skills.

Over the years, I have developed a passion for making learning engaging, accessible, and joyful. I enjoy creating meaningful classroom resources, experimenting with technology integration, and finding simple, effective ways to support student growth. This blog is a space where I share ideas, reflect on my teaching journey, and offer tools that have worked for me in real classrooms.

Whether you are a new teacher, a seasoned educator, or simply someone who loves learning, I hope you will find inspiration, practical tips, and a sense of community here. Thank you for stopping by!
